- Integrity – everything begins with you. Do you have a reputation for being honest? Are you truthful and would not lie? Do you bring this value into your business?
- Intent – the next principal is to have positive intent in everything that you do. You are not trying to hide anything or deceive anyone with your hidden agenda. In any business, we should make people’s lives better. Let’s get rid of the half -truths (and outright lies!) that seem commonplace in many businesses.
- Capable – do you have the proficiency, know-how, and ability required to do the job? If you are new to your business, your work is cut out for you. You absolutely must get up to speed as quickly as you can about the company and the products you’re representing. Any prospective business partners or co-workers need to know that you are the leader they are looking for to help them succeed in their business.
- Results – exactly what’s your performance history been in the past? If you have actually been successful in your past endeavors, then the odds are good that you will be successful in the future.
Hopes and Dreams
Now, step back and take a serious look at how you’re marketing and representing your company. Would you trust you?
If you build your company on trust, then you can look forward to building it right the first time. Be true to your prospective business partners and customers – and be true to yourself.
Run your business on the ‘Golden Rule’. Treat your potential business partners and customers like you want to be treated. Set the right expectations and be true to your word.
Build your business like you really believe it will be around for a long, long time. Also, remember that you are dealing with the fragile hopes and dreams of many people. They want to believe – they really do.
